Paramount Supports “Dinner in the Dark”

dinner-in-the-darkParamount employees recently participated in a fundraiser that brings awareness to those who are vision impaired. The event was called “Dinner in the Dark” and attendees experienced the entire evening while completely blindfolded. This event seeks to raise money to support research for the Leber Hereditary Optic Neuropathy (LHON) vision impaired. The mission of this organization is to drive the research that will provide prevention, treatments and cures for LHON, a rare genetic disorder that causes sudden legal blindness. The LHON Project works to increase awareness, and to guide affected families to vitally important information, resources and support. About 100 people in the U.S. lose vision due to LHON each year, joining the 4,000 Americans who already suffer vision impairment. Because this is an orphan disease, there is only a limited among of research taking place regarding LHON. Paramount Financial was happy to support this cause and gain a new understanding and compassion for those that suffer from visual impairment.
